Vol. 8 No. 2 (2025): Special Issue: Forty years of Learning Advising in Aotearoa New Zealand
Kia whakatōmuri te haere whakamua – I walk backwards into the future with my eyes fixed on the past. 2025 marks 40 years of our tertiary learning advisor mahi (work) in Aotearoa New Zealand.
This special issue of the ATLAANZ Journal recognises this momentous milestone by compiling reflections and stories from tertiary learning advisors past and present about being a learning advisor, how their practices have changed over the years, and how our mahi will continue to develop into the future.
These reflections are varied, resonant, emotional, humorous, and utterly engaging because they evoke so many experiences and perspectives that any who are lucky enough to be / have been a learning advisor can identify with.
The ATLAANZ Executive Committee and the ATLAANZ Journal Editors would like all Aotearoa New Zealand learning advisors to participate in this celebration:
It's not too late.
Our goal is to continue publishing reflections progressively in this special issue, so if you are reading this after 2025, you are invited to make a submission. Please do.
