This memorial brings together three reflections on the life and legacy of Associate Professor Emerita Susan Carter. Deborah Laurs (Past ATLAANZ President & Current ATLAANZ Life Member), Josta Heyligers (Auckland University of Technology), and Emmanuel Manalo (Past ATLAANZ President & Current ATLAANZ Life Member) highlight Susan’s pioneering work in doctoral education, research writing, and learning advising, alongside her extensive scholarship and international networks. This is a beautiful portrayal of a creative, unconventional, generous, and deeply relational academic whose influence continues through her scholarship and communities.
